FUN FACTS ABOUT ROALD DAHL

Dahl was nicknamed Lofty for his very tall stature. He was 6’6″!

Walt Disney didn’t call him Lofty, he called him Stalky because he was as skinny as a beanpole and tall!

In the cemetery at the church where Dahl is buried, there are big friendly giant (BFG) footprints that lead to his grave.

Dahl always kept 10 items on the table in his garden shed where he wrote: (directly quoted from book)

1.) A ball made from silver chocolate wrappers.

2.) A small model of a Hurricane fighter plane.

3.) His hipbone.

4.) A glass bottle filled with mauve-colored bits of gristle taken from Roald Dahl’s spine during an operation.

5.) A photo of his granddaughter Sophie.

6.) A meteorite the size of a golf ball.

7.) His father’s silver-and-tortoiseshell paper-knife.

8.) A solar-powered musical box.

9.) A carving of a green grasshopper.

10.) A cone from a cedar tree.
